We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In fact, for some of us, breakfast isn't just for breakfast - we crave pancakes and omelettes at all hours.

And we don't want to waste such an important meal by chowing down some greasy fast-food hash browns.

So we compiled a list of our favorite breakfast places across Orange County. These are eateries that serve up hearty, quality food - fluffy eggs and hotcakes, homemade biscuits and jams - often with a good helping of friendly service and charming atmosphere.

The place to treat yourself to a breakfast with a bit of style and panache. Indulge in out-of-the-ordinary offerings like French rolled omelet, filled with a trio of sautéed wild mushrooms; Willamette Valley Hazelnut Pancakes; and Alderwood Smoked Salmon Hash.
